FOREVER WILD

Pencil over Instant Film Negative

30 Drawings (3.5 x 8.5 inches) 2012

The Ashley Schiff Park Preserve “Forever Wild” in Long Island represents very well the landscape of the area where I lived between 2009 and 2012. For this project I present a series of photographs taken in this region as a set of tracks that recall my story over this period. After days, weeks or even months I took them I go back to the negatives left from these polaroids and draw over them adding a new mark to these points of my past.

It is a game of contaminating the past (photography) with the present (drawing) to create a new cartography that contains a series of symbols waiting for a meaning coming from the future
